Educational programs

The museum's educational programs are designed for both children and adults. Find a topic that interests you and become a participant in an educational event!

The cost of the educational program for one participant* is €2.00.

*To participate in educational programs held in the museum's premises, an additional entrance ticket must be purchased.

Please note that prior registration is required for educational programs. You can register by calling the museum during working hours (Wednesday to Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM) at +37062293151 (educator) or +37062297260. You can also send a registration request via email: edukacija@markuciudvaras.lt. Please make sure to wait for a confirmation of the scheduled time for the educational program.

 

List of Educational Programs at Markučiai Manor Museum:

 

Educational programs for families and adults:

 

  • "Journey into the World of 19th Century Divination". During this educational program, you will immerse yourself in the world of fortune-telling games, peek into your future, learn new divination techniques, and meet the "most famous sorceress of Markučiai, Countess Joanna." Groups of 5 to 12 people.

  • "19th Century Board Games". During this program, you will learn and play popular 19th-century board games: the English "Elephant and Castle," the German "Hope," and the Russian "Goose." Groups of 4 to 10 people.

  • "Festive Cocktail". A tour + an educational program with divination games. During this event, participants learn about the history and life of the manor, try the favorite divination games of the nobility, and learn to play the ancient board game "Hope." Groups of 5 to 10 people.

  • "The Treasure of Markučiai Manor". For this educational program, you need a smartphone with internet access. By scanning tables with QR codes, you will search for a secret document on the grounds of Markučiai Manor and discover the manor's history.

  • "19th Century Outdoor Games: Croquet and Gorodki". Popular 19th-century outdoor games such as croquet and gorodki are played in the park. Players are introduced to the rules and history of these games. Groups of 4 to 15 people.  

 

Educational programs for schoolchildren:

 

  • "Fairy Tale Book" (for children aged 5 to 10). During this program, schoolchildren create an illustrated fairy tale book.

  • "Secrets of the Old Manor" (from 5 years old). Introduction to the manor, its interior, etiquette, and the everyday life of the nobility.

  • "Outdoor Games of the 19th and 20th Centuries: Croquet, Gorodki" (from 5 years old). Popular 19th-century outdoor games like croquet and gorodki are played in the park. Players learn the rules and history of the games. Groups of 4 to 15 people.

  • "Exploring the Slavic Fairy Tale" (grades 1–5). Introduction to the plot and characters of a fairy tale through various sources (written, visual, video).

  • "Exegi Monumentum" (grades 5–12). This educational program introduces the biography of the poet and creates the poet’s family tree.

  • "Heraldry: Workshop for Creating a Family Coat of Arms" (grades 5–10). The workshop introduces the basic meanings of symbols and colors in coats of arms, parts of a coat of arms, the creation of coats of arms, and the heraldry of the Pushkin family and noble families of Lithuania. Participants create their own family coat of arms.

  • "Manor" (grades 5–8). During this educational program, students assemble a model of Markučiai Manor based on cut-out details.

  • "19th Century Board Games" (grades 5–12). During the program, participants play two board games: "Goose" and "Lotto" (the program is held for small groups of children, up to 12 participants).

  • "The Treasure of Markučiai Manor" (grades 5–12). Students search for treasure on the manor grounds using mobile phones.

  • "Eugene Onegin" (grades 9–12). Students receive excerpts from the novel, helping them answer questions in a quiz.

  • "Books from the Family Library of M. Biržishkis, Signatory of the Act of Independence of Lithuania, in the Museum's Collection."
